First blog
I have had the notion of writing a children’s book using my amateur photography for at least a dozen years.
If you have already read my book and are here to leave a comment, click on the Contact Us. I am looking forward to knowing what you liked about the book and what you decided to do after reading it.
Hello! My name is Mary. What is your name?
I enjoy being outside and looking around to see what I can see. Plants grow. Insects come and go. Spiders make webs. Leaves fall when the wind blows.
If you take a few minutes to explore, you will see pictures of these things and more.
The pictures were taken on different days in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. You may live nearby or a long, long way away. Will you look around where you live and see things that are the same or very, very different?
You might just see something at a glance. Maybe you will plan ahead and grow a plant to attract a certain butterfly or have birds come to a feeder. You might even visit a special garden or park.
Pictures and words are amazing! I can share things that I saw and tell you about them. You can learn more about them from other books. Will you take pictures or draw what you see? Will you share them with friends and family?
If I can make a book, so can you!
Mary Mills invites you to discover the small joys in life. Inspired by William Blake’s notion of seeing “Heaven in a Wildflower,” she encourages you to observe the world closely—some things wish to be noticed, while others remain hidden. Take time to appreciate the intricate connections between plants and animals.
